4-Hour Dentist on The Bygone Bureau

  1. Not really good satire at all unless you base your satirical preferences on blind prejudice. I doubt if the author of this satire has read further than the title of the book because this satire has nothing to do with the book's contents. A good satirist could certainly make fun of Ferris's books, but this is more a comment on self-help books in general and a lame guess on what the four-hour books might contain based on the tiles.

In fact Ferris's books are not really "self-help" at all, but "how-to" with very practical suggestions for being entrepreneurial, exercising more effectively and losing weight. And they are not about doing anything in four hours at all, but doing it with four hours a week. Many people do get educations with that amount of effort!

So the writer really missed the mark with this lame attempt at humor, kind of like Calvin writing a book report without ever reading the book.

  2. Thought this was awesome! And that's coming from a rabid fan of Ferriss' "4-Hour Workweek."

  3. Hilarious. And, Tim Ferriss himself enjoyed it http://twitter.com/#!/tferriss/status/33086263628140544

I'm currently reading 4HB, enjoying it, and think this is spot-on satire. Funny stuff, Charlie.

  4. Quote of the decade: "Objectivity is subjective, and the laws of science are for victims." If I were a woman or gay, I would love you. Instead I'll just choose to think you're comical and pray for you to get all the tail you could ever hope for...

  6. LOL! I'm ready 4HB too, and 4 days into the weight loss portion. I'm laughing my ass off at this post. Hands down, best satire ever.
